Archbishop officially opens 'The Lodge'
Saturday 15 May 2010
The Archbishop of York, today, opened the Link House Trust's third house in Cambridge.
The Link House Trust is a registered charity which has been providing accommodation and a friendly welcome to international, post-graduate students in Cambridge for more than 20 years.
The Archbishop was welcomed by many friends and supporters of the Trust and as a former student of Cambridge, he was delighted to be able to officially open 'The Lodge' in Hertford Street. He said:·
"I want to congratulate all those who have worked so hard to make this lovely new building possible. The Link House Trust has this wonderful way of providing hospitality, in the name of Jesus Christ.
"This is a place where cultural barriers are broken down – often with plenty of laughter! It happens because people have made friends over the dinner table, and have learned to share their lives together – even to see themselves as others see them.
"May God bless this Link House with the presence, always, of the Holy Spirit, and the generosity and joy of the gospel, the good news of God in Jesus Christ."
