Archbishop welcomes the Destiny Africa Children's Choir to Bishopthorpe Palace
Thursday 13 May 2010
The choir's tour of the UK brought them to Bishopthorpe Palace and they showcased their wonderful talent to the Archbishop and his staff.
-
The Destiny Africa Children's Choir is made up of children who have been rescued from horrific situations and who now live together at Kampala Children's Centre in Uganda. Their ages range from 8-16 years. Through their mix of African music, drumming and dance, they share their dreams and thoughts of hope.
-
They were welcomed to Bishopthorpe Palace and following a short tour, joined the Archbishop at a Eucharist Service where their wonderful music was showcased. Following lunch they performed further songs that members of the group had written.
